Consultation costs vary depending on the type and complexity of the patient’s condition.
A consultation fee applies to all new patient appointments. This covers:
• Clinical assessment
• Discussion of diagnosis and treatment options
• Review of relevant investigations or previous records
• Explanation of risks, benefits, and alternatives
If further consultations are required before deciding on surgery, these may also attract a consultation fee.
SELF FUNDING PATIENTS WHO WISH TO ATTEND FOR COSMETIC PROBLEMS
• For most patients, initial consultations typically cost £200 and any follow up consultations e.g. following surgery, are typically included as part of their surgery planning.
• However for patients with more complex cosmetic problems e.g. for patients requesting a second opinion following surgery performed by another surgeon, the initial consultation cost is £400.
SELF FUNDING PATIENTS WHO WISH TO ATTEND FOR FUNCTIONAL PROBLEMS
• Initial consultation appointments cost £200.
• There may be additional costs for diagnostic procedures performed in clinic and Mr Cheung will inform the patient fully about these before performing any tests.
• Follow up consultation appointments are typically free as they are included as part of the surgery package costs.
PATIENTS WITH PRIVATE MEDICAL INSURANCE WHO WISH TO ATTEND FOR FUNCTIONAL PROBLEMS
Procedures vary greatly in complexity and the fees reflect this. Each patient is different and the treatment offered is bespoke for that patient. It is for this reason that many fees are not given in this website but you will be informed of all costs prior to your surgery. Mr Cheung's fees are in line with equivalent providers. Full payment will be due and payable before the day of your treatment or surgery.
Click here for information about The Westbourne Centre's payment plan which many patients find helpful.
The fees listed on this website are provided as general guidance only. They are not contractually binding and may change over time.
Your exact treatment plan, surgical complexity, and anaesthetic requirements can only be confirmed after consultation and clinical assessment. A written quotation will be provided before surgery once the planned procedure and setting are agreed.
Unless otherwise stated, surgical fees usually represent the total cost of treatment, including the procedure itself and routine postoperative follow-up, but may exclude:
• Additional procedures not agreed in advance
• Unexpected clinical requirements
• Medications supplied by pharmacies
• Future revision surgery, if required
Local anaesthetic surgery: Most eyelid procedures — including upper eyelid blepharoplasty, many lower eyelid procedures, ptosis repair, entropion and ectropion surgery, eyelid lump removal, and minor lacrimal procedures — are commonly performed under local anaesthetic as day-case surgery.Local anaesthetic surgery allows patients to return home the same day and usually avoids the need for hospital admission or general anaesthesia. This keeps treatment both safe and cost-effective for many patients.
Sedation or General Anaesthetic Surgery: Some procedures, and some patient preferences, require sedation. This may be recommended based on:
• The nature or duration of surgery
• Patient comfort or anxiety levels
• Medical considerations
When sedation or general anaesthesia is required, surgery must be performed in an appropriate hospital setting and overall costs are typically higher. This will be discussed during consultation and reflected in your written quotation.
Costs vary quite a bit and are customised for every patient depending on operation complexity and the options they choose e.g. whether they’d like the operation under sedation or whether they’d like to stay in the hospital overnight.
Most of our patients have upper lid blepharoplasty surgery under local anaesthetic only.
However for 4 lid blepharoplasty surgery (combined upper and lowers) or just lower lid blepharoplasty, most patients would opt for an anaesthetist to be present to administer some sedation or general anaesthetic.
The vast majority of patients go home the same day as the operation and do not need to stay in the hospital at all i.e. day case surgery. However if you do wish to stay overnight the hospital would charge £400 per night. We wouldn’t recommend staying in the hospital though, it’s not really necessary.
As a rough guide then on average:
Bilateral Upper lid blepharoplasty/ ptosis correction under local anaesthetic costs from £4450
Lower lid blepharoplasty under sedation costs from £5100
Combined upper and lower lid blepharoplasty under sedation costs from £8775
All prices are fully inclusive and include postoperative medication, suture removal, clinical photography, all necessary postoperative consultations, etc.

Entropion/ Ectropion surgery to one eyelid only costs from £2300
Entropion/ Ectropion Surgery to two eyelids only costs from £3050

Most of patients have minor surgery under local anaesthetic only.
As a rough guide then on average:
Cyst drainage surgery (up to 3 lesions) typically costs from £775
Biopsy removal of small lesions costs from £775
Mr Cheung may recommend additional histological analysis of biopsy specimens at a cost of £140.
All prices are fully inclusive and include postoperative medication, suture removal, clinical photography, all necessary postoperative consultations, etc.
Unfortunately due to various regulatory changes at the hospitals where Mr Cheung consults, Mr Cheung is no longer able to offer a tear trough filler service
